Rey obtained his BS Applied Physics and MS Applied Mathematics in 2018 and 2021, respectively, both from the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD). In August 2021, he served as a lecturer of the Institute of Mathematics, UPD, teaching calculus courses. After a semester, he opted to work as full-time research assistant for the COVID- 19 modeling projects by the Modeling and Applications (ModApp) Group. In February this year, Rey received an offer for a PhD Physics position in Lisbon University, Portugal. The PhD research program will start in the Infectious Disease Modeling Group at the University Medical Center in Utrecht, The Netherlands (18 months) and then continue at the Lisbon University, Portugal (18 months). Rey is expected to start his PhD studies this fall 2023.
