Since its inception in 2017, IWOMB has transcended the mere organization of workshops; it aimed to give birth to an organization dedicated to promoting interdisciplinary research in mathematical and biological sciences. This ambitious vision came to fruition with the launch of the Philippine Society for Mathematical Biology (PSMB) during IWOMB 2024. In a significant stride towards advancing the field of mathematical biology in the Philippines, the PSMB elected a distinguished inaugural set of board members, marking a pivotal moment for the society. This development reinforces PSMB's commitment to fostering collaboration, innovation, and growth within the mathematical biology community in the country, with key roles filled by individuals from institutions such as UP Diliman, De La Salle University, UP Los Baños, UP Mindanao, and UP Cebu.
