Michelle Raza, a member of the Modeling and Applications Group, recently achieved a significant academic milestone by successfully passing her candidacy exam, one of the key requirements in her PhD journey. Notably, this exam coincided with her invitation to present online at the Journal Club of the Biomath Group at Roskilde University, Denmark, on October 21, 2024—both important events occurring at the same time.
Michelle presented the paper "Modeling the Effect of Memory in the Adaptive Immune Response," authored by Asia Wyatt and Doron Levy. The journal club presentation which occurred at the same time as her candidacy exam, was well-received and provided valuable insights into the role of memory in the adaptive immune system. Michelle expressed gratitude for the opportunity to present the research and for the support she received throughout these milestones especially to her adviser, Dr. Aurelio de los Reyes V, co-adviser Dr. Johnny Ottesen, and to all who were present on the event face-to-face and online.
